THE VILLA SANITATION DEPARTMENT

 

“For of Him, and Through Him, and To Him…”[Romans 11;3] 

We first of all give glory and praise to our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in His wisdom has created an avenue for us to express our profound thanks and gratitude for the many great things He has done and is continually doing for us with each passing day. For it is He that has given us the wisdom and strength to function in the capacity of cleaning and making the place of worship conducive for the gathering of God's people.

My name is Edna Oke and I am privileged to be the Head of the Villa Sanitation Department of our great church. Come with me as I take you on a short tour of the department.

       The Villa Sanitation Department was created out of the now defunct Maintenance Department in 1998, with the responsibility of ensuring a conducive atmosphere for the gathering of God’s people to worship, praise and listen to the Word of God that is boldly preached by His minister. Our mandate is the cleaning and polishing of the church auditorium, including the pulpit and the water fountain area. We are also responsible for the seating arrangement in church and the preparation and serving of communion during services.

 

       In accomplishing this mandate, the Lord has given us a crop of dedicated church volunteers who come in on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to work in the auditorium prior to church services. These volunteers bring the different talents and resources given them by God to bear on our mandate. Sometimes, during special church programmes, like the G.R.A.C.E. Programme, we are required to work overnight to achieve the level of cleanliness and arrangement that our Lord Jesus will be proud of. In essence, the Villa Sanitation Department is a hands-on department that is an integral part of our ever vibrant ministry.

       We are eternally grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for the enabling energy and vision to function in the ministry to which we are called. For truly, it is of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things; to whom be glory forever. Amen
